Johnny Christopher Depp is reported to be working on a new project with Mira Nair. Nair's new movie "Shantaram" which is due to release in 2009, will star Depp in the lead role. This movie is co-produced by Depp's Infinitum Nihil and Brad Pitt's production company Plan B. Indian-born Nair, who also directed "Monsoon Wedding" in 2001 and "Vanity Fair" in 2004, admits she is a big fan of the book and is looking forward to the challenge of working behind the camera with Depp.
